Dot # 1. Jesus. High Priest in the Sanctuary.
“he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.” Acts 1:3 “And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.” Acts 1:9. Luke 24:51. Mark 16:19. Several years later, while in vision, the prophet John saw Jesus walking among the candlesticks of the Holy Place in the heavenly sanctuary. Rev. 1:12. The candlesticks represented the churches (Rev. 1:20) that existed from his day to the seventh church – A.D. 1844 Laodicea that was to preach a judgment hour message.
Dot # 2. Jesus, Ministering to His People .
As Jesus ministered in the Holy Place before the altar of incense, He was the High Priest, listening to the prayers of the saints, pleading his blood sacrifice before the Father for forgiveness of confessed sins. answering those prayers, purifying His people, protecting His people through evil times, or watching their martyrdoms to ensure them of eternal life, protecting the Bible or Word of God through the centuries, directing the affairs of nations, controlling the rise and fall of great empires, directing the controversy struggle between good and evil, dispensing knowledge and wisdom, ever bringing those remnants into alignment with the will of the heavenly Father and the establishment of the kingdom of righteousness. Through the ages, those whose who were to be in the kingdom were registered in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
Dot # 3. One Generation Anticipated the Second Coming of Jesus
For 1800 years, Jesus Christ officiated in the Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary. As time has passed, one generation was listening for the “bells on the hem of the high priest’s garment” for His moves in the sanctuary that could bring about an end to the great controversy between good and evil . They anticipated His Second Coming. The bells on the hem of his garment and the pomegranates were a type of knowledge of “Present Truth” for their day, especially regarding His work in the heavens for the salvation of those who would be residents in His kingdom. They thought that the timeline prophecy of Dan. 8:14 of 2300 day-years held the answer to their hopes for His soon Coming.
Dot # 4. Timelines Tell Where We are in the Stream of Time.
Just as there was a dated transition down here on earth of the vineyard from Israel to the Gentiles in A.D. 34 at the end of the 70 week timeline of Dan. 9:24; so also there was a dated transition in heaven from Christ’s ministry in the Holy Place to a different ministry in the Most Holy Place in the heavenly sanctuary in A.D. 1844, according to the 2300 day-year timeline of Dan. 8:14.
Dot # 5. The Judgment was Set—Court Convened and Books Opened in Heaven.
As the time approached toward A.D. 1844, the Holy Spirit moved on the hearts and minds of God’s people to research Dan. 8:14 timeline, to know the meaning of that event in the heavens. After the great disappointment, they saw that the ministry of Jesus had transferred, from the Holy Place to the Most Holy Place, into a different work so that the “court (of heaven) had convened, and the books (of records) were opened.” Dan. 7:9-13. Jesus came in the clouds of heaven [not to this earth as the people expected] but to the Ancient of days to become the Advocate, (Lawyer) and Judge, to deliver His people in the court, from the bondage of sin, and from Satan’s prison house—the grave.
The work of Jesus in the Most Holy Place of the sanctuary, is known by several different titles. Each title presents an additional truth that is essential for God’s people to understand at this time:

- Notice
“We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty of heaven; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.” Heb. 8:1,2.
