Dot # 1 The Counsel of Peace
Before intelligent beings were created with the power of choice, The Holy Triad, known as “God” or “The Godhead” held a counsel together. “…and the counsel of peace shall be between them…
Zec 6:13. What was the subject under discussion?
Dot # 2. God Prepared to Meet the Sin Problem.
“Remember…I am God,…Declaring the end from the beginning…saying, My counsell shall stand…” Isa. 46:9,10. God knew that intelligent beings with the power of choice would, at a certain point in the future, rebel against authority and that the Laws of God that stabilize the universe would be challenged. They knew that sin would arise and prepared to meet it. This would require sacrifices on their part to save the universe from disintegration. To meet this emergency what must be done?
Dot # 3. The First Person or Father is the Lonely Administrator or “Source of all”
The First Person of the Godhead, known as the “Ancient of days” (Dan. 7:9) or the heavenly Father, volunteered to take an administrative position as the “Source of all.” He took the responsibility of generating all energy and matter and to initiate all blessings to created beings. As a powerful electrical generator is encased to prevent intruders from death, so the Father sits in a solitary, lonely position where “his throne was like a fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire…A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him.” Dan. 7:9,10. When Moses asked to see his glory, the Lord said, “Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.” EX. 33:20.
Dot # 4. The Second Person is “Communicator” and Took Seven Steps Downward.
The Second Person of the Godhead, volunteered to become the Communicator between the Father and all created beings. This meant that He too would make sacrifices all along the way. He prepared for this position by stepping down as follows: Step No. 1. “[Christ Jesus] Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God; [the Father]. Phil. 2:6. Step No. 2. “But made himself of no reputation,” Phil. 2:7. As one would take off a vest or coat, he laid the glory that He had shared with the Father, aside. Step. No. 3. “and took upon him the form of a servant.” Phil. 2:7.
What “form” was that? The angels are known as “ministers” or “servants.” Heb. 1:7,14. He took the form of an angel. In many texts of the Bible Christ is spoken of as an “angel of the Lord,” or the “Michael, the archangel.” Jude 9. Dan. 10:13. “Archangel” means One “over all angels.”
He took the form of an angel because angels were about to be created and the Second Person of the Godhead stepped down to take a form like them to be the Communicator between them and the heavenly Father.
Dot # 5. The Third Person is not Encapsulated in a Body.
The third person of the Godhead also sacrificed the glory and honor of a form or body. He is therefore able to be in all places of the universe to work in and on creation and to dwell in the minds and hearts of all intelligent beings. All tlhree of the Godhead have made great sacrifices to care for their created beings. Unselfish love is the basis of God’s great government that runs the universe.
Dot # 6. The Creation of Lucifer and Other Angels.
The angel, Lucifer was created in the “image of God..[.Jesus Christ.”] Lucifer was the “son of the morning” or dawn of the creation of angels. It is written of him, “Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day thou wast created…” Eze. 28:15. “Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty…” Eze. 28:14. His name meant “Light Bearer.” “Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth [the ark of the law of God]”..the foundation of God’s government. Eze. 28:14. Many other angels were created
Dot # 7. The Law of Love, and the Original Creation Covenant.
As each intelligent angel was created, and intelligent beings were placed on other worlds, (Heb. 1:2,) God introduced the Law of Love in its positive form. “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”..thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” (On these two commandments hang all the law…” Matt. 22:37-40.). Along with the Law of Love, God introduced the Original Covenant: “Obey and live. Disobey and die.” This covenant assured them that as long as they obeyed the laws of God they could live forever, but disobedience would bring about self destruction.
Dot # 8. Lucifer was the Originator of Sin.
Although Lucifer was created in the “’image of God” –like the form which the Second Person of the Godhead had taken, he observed that his “brother” was able to go into the Presence of the Father and return to communicate the Father’s will to the angels, but he [Lucifer]was not allowed to enter! Envy and jealousy entered his heart. It was the beginning of the great controversy between Christ and Satan. “…Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.” Eze. 28:15. His mind began to twist and warp to find excuses for the hatred for the One he saw as a his competitor. In outward appearance, in form, they seemed to be equal, but Michael was a Creatpr God while Lucifer was only a created being.
Dot # 9. Lucifer Rebelled Against the Terms of the Original Covenant and Laws of God.
The Original Covenant offered to all intelligent beings a freedom of choice. They were free to choose to live forever in obedience in this great universe to enjoy the blessings of eternal life with every need and desire to be met, or they could choose to return to oblivion. Disobedience would bring self destruction. As Lucifer rebelled against authority, his character or name began to change. From “light bearer” to “prince of darkness” or Satan, the Devil! He complained that the Original Covenant did not give a fair “freedom of choice.” He reasoned that a true freedom would be to love self rather than to love God and others and still live forever! He accused God of being a dictator and using the angels as deluded slaves.
Lucifer assured them that if he were running things, he would establish a superior government in heaven wherein each could live to pleasure himself. The Lord knew his heart and said, “thou hast said, I am God,…thou set thine heart as the heart of God…Eze. 28:2-6.
Dot # 10. Lucifer Accuses God.
Satan assumed that he had put God between “the rock and the hard place.” He dared God to put him to death “If you do, I will have proved my point. There is no real freedom of choice.” You are lying. You are a tyrant! Go ahead and kill me. The whole universe will see what you really are. They will all rebel and your government will fall.” “They will all see you are not a God of love but a murderer.” I have not been given true freedom of choice if I can not disbey and live.
Dot # 11. Lucifer Becomes Satan, the Devil.
As Satan made his complaints to the other angels who had considered him to be a leader, all heaven was in chaos. He was openly “running for office.” “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” Isa. 14:12-14. He planned to take God off his throne, and seat himself in His place.
Dot # 12 The Father Explains the True Position of the Second Person of the Godhead. The Father called a special meeting to explain that Michael, the Second Person of the Godhead was also one of the “Godhead” and to be worshipped as was the “Father.” …he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.” Heb. 1:7-11.
Dot # 13. Satan Refused a Complete Makeover.
Michael tried to reason with Satan to bring him under the gentle authority of his Creator. The penalty for breaking the law, according to the Original Covenant—a judicial document, was that the law breaker must die, But a way of redemption was offered. Satan could, of his own volition, lay down his life, but if he was willing, the Lord would re-create him if he would admit before all the other angels that he was wrong and be willing to die to self, and submit his will to let the Holy Spirit bring him back into harmony with heaven and cease his rebellion against his Creator. He could be “re-created as a new creature. Satan begged to be restored to his positon and honor, but would not give his heart and mind over to the Lord for a complete “makeover.” God wept.
Dot # 14. The War in Heaven.
Satan and a third of the angels broke into open warfare. “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon [Satan] fought and his angels, And prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the “Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Rev. 12:7-9.
Dot # 15 Satan Seeks a New Home on This Planet-Earth.
Satan, when cast out of heaven, lost his home, his position, his work, his honor, and had no place to go except into cold, dark deep space--“the pit”. He visited other worlds seeking to demonstrate his “Better Plan” there, but they had witnessed his actions and results in heaven, and refused to let him in. He remembered that there was a counsel to which he had not been invited.
That very counsel was planning the creation of this earth, and as he saw the beauty and lovliness of this new fresh earth, he determined to establish his kingdom here. This time he would use cunning deceit to gain mastery over this new order of being—mankind.
Now, if these 15 dots have been connected you have solved the first part of the puzzle that:
1. All three of the Godhad are self sacrificing, for the love of their created beings.
2. The Second Person of the Godhead volunteered to step down to handle the sin problem.
3. The Second Person of the Godhead, has a jealous and evil enemy.
4. That enemy is Satan and his angels that were cast out of heaven to this earth.
5. Satan desired to usurp the throne and government of God
6. God did not kill Satan. The universe would have served God for fear. Not love.
7. God permitted Satan to demonstrate to the universe that self serving is destructive.
8. Satan is still demonstrating and causing trouble down here on earth.
9. The Creator God knows that His laws and the Original Covenant are the basis of His
Government and the only means of sustaining the safety of the universe.
10. The plan of salvation was provided for in the counsel of peace before the foundation
of this world. Heb. 1 :10.
